The unique magic of Kirk Charles will add a fun dimension to your sales meeting or entertainment to your customer and employee appreciation event or a crowd pleasing element to your trade your show. Kirk has performed at many different corporate functions ranging from holiday parties to product introductions to grand openings to sales meetings to trade shows. He offers two different formats: walk-around and stand-up.

Walk-around magic is designed for informal situations such as receptions, picnics, open houses, party cruises and hospitality suites. Kirk gives attention to everyone on a personal basis. His magic is very interactive and most of the illusions occur in the hands of the participants. It is very flexible and can be done anywhere. He has written three books on the subject of walk-around magic and is considered by magicians around the world to be an expert on the subject.

Stand-up magic is designed for more formal events like an awards banquet or a sales meeting. Audience participation and verbal & situational comedy are important elements to this type of performance. In addition, Kirk can work a message into his presentation or create a program around a specific theme. He can also incorporate different characters as listed in Specialty Shows, below.

Whether it is a birthday party, a holiday celebration, an outdoor festival or any kind of event which has both adults and children, Kirk can present a program that entertains all ages levels.

He has worked at hundreds of family events ranging from PTA meetings to Cub Scout banquets to community festivals.

Over the years Kirk Charles has been requested to create themed shows as well as characters for specific events.

He has performed as a three-card monte operator, a far-out hippie magician, an inventor, a séance medium, a tea-leaf reader, a jester and various other characters. He has also been hired to work as an impostor. He wrote and performed Professor Grimm’s Medicine Show for a corporate event. He has also written and performed two one-person shows, one of them, Thanatophobia was produced by the Seattle Repertory Theater.

Currently, the most popular character requested is the wizard. This character can be presented as a Medieval Soothsayer and done with attention to historical detail or he can be performed in a more a fairy tale style. The wizard performs either or both walk-around and stand-up.

In addition to these programs, Kirk has also given presentations on improving one’s memory, “The magic of memory.” This can be presented as after dinner speech or in a workshop format.

In addition to being a performer and an author, Kirk Charles has worked as a technical consultant and magic instructor. He taught magic at the University of Washington’s Experimental College for seven years.

He has been a technical consultant for films, television, stage productions and special events. His credits range from the film Waiting for the Light, to the Seattle Repertory’s production of Harvey, to KING TV’s Almost Live and Seattle Today.

Kirk has created magic to add to sales talks, charity fundraisers, and motivational speeches. Lawyers, teachers, sales people, and performers have had him design pieces to make their presentations more appealing.

Kirk Charles is willing to help you add magic to your presentation. He can teach you simple methodologies or help you find the appropriate magic apparatus. His consulting is sensitive to your budget, your objective and your venue.

“Your class and instructions have genuinely changed my life…I’m now using about 15 tricks in my own teaching, and this last time the class actually applauded several of them.”
